Week 3: Production Set back/ Filming equipment
Updates on production
Hey guys! Unfortunately my actors didn't have time to film over the weekend because things came up. But don't fear because we will be doing the filming process today! I had to gather some filming equipment from my teacher so our film could be more professional. I decided to use a film camera rather than using a phone because the film will look 10x more professional.
Here is the equipment I am borrowing from my teacher:
The first piece of equipment I am going to be using is a gimbal. A gimbal is a hand held mount that stabilizes a camera while it's moving. This is going to be super important for shots where my actor will be walking because rather than having a shaky hand held shot, the shot would be smooth. The gimbal uses motors and sensors to automatically balance the camera. Most modern gimbals are 3-axis stabilizers, (which I will be using). The gimbal tilts up and down, pans left to right, and roll side to side.
For the camera I will be using a canon rebel t6i. This camera is really good for filming because it is affordable and user friendly. It has a solid 1080 p quality, which isn't the best however it is great for a beginner. The camera also features a "Hybrid CMOS AF III" which provides smooth auto focus during live video. The last thing I will be using is mic. My teacher recommended to use this mic to plug into my phone and record the audio, then later put it into adobe premier.
